What’s The Difference?
Looking at the Specification Sheet below, you’ll quickly notice that the SNIPER LRF Thermal Rifle scope models have a lot in common. They share the same type of VOx Gen2 sensor with an outstanding NETD of <18mK, they share the same power supply, screen resolution, operating system etc. So here are a couple key differences to take note of:
- Objective Lens Size – 35mm vs 50mm – The 35mm lens of the SNIPER LRF 35-384 will give you a wider field of view than the 50mm 50-384 (45ft vs 35ft at 100 yards) while the 50mm 50-640 has the widest field of view (50ft at 100 yards). With the 50mm models though, you can more clearly identify targets at greater distances because the lens focuses more thermal energy onto the sensor.
- Sensor Resolution – The 35-384 and 50-384 SNIPER LRF models have a sensor resolution of 384×288 pixels. The 50-640 has a sensor resolution of 640×512. As we all know, more pixels ultimately means a clearer picture.
