I fell in love with the Grendel soon after it was invented, and bought a heavy barreled 20″ upper from Alexander Arms, when they were still the only source. It’s the most accurate rifle I’ve ever owned, including my custom .308 sniper rifles I used before retiring as a SWAT Sniper Team Commander. I recently got the bug to build a CQB Carbine upper in Grendel for its superior payload over a 5.56X45. I found this 16″ Satern barrel on Grendel Hunter, and put together a sweet upper. I used a non-adjustable gas block, 15″ free-float MLOK handguard, capped it with an APA Little Bastard brake and an Aimpoint Comp M2 red dot. First day at the range and after zeroing, I was ringing 6″ steel at 100 yards, not missing a single one with a zero magnification red dot. This barrel is extremely well made, and functioning is 100% reliable on my Colt 6920 lower. This is an outstanding barrel for anyone wanting a short, handy defensive carbine in our beloved 6.5 Grendel caliber. And the customer service at Grendel Hunter is fantastic! Two thumbs up!
